What is store credit, and how does it work? Reading I got one of your black high waist jeans, but they smell weird. Why? 2 minutes Next My new dark blue jeans are bleeding colour. Now what?

If you just got your high waist jeans and they have a weird smell, it's mostly due to the dyeing and manufacturing process. Dark or raw denim, in particular, often carries a strong chemical smell because of the dyes and treatments used to create the deep colour. We also use different chemicals to keep the fabric fresh and prevent fungus during storage and shipping. Unfortunately, these chemicals at times can leave an unpleasant smell that sticks around for a while.

So, how do you get rid of the smell? First, air out your jeans for a bit by hanging them in a well-ventilated area so that fresh air circulates and helps to neutralize the odour. Once that is done, just soak your denim in cold water with a mild detergent for a few minutes and run it through a simple wash cycle, and then air dry them. Avoid using too much detergent or hot water to wash your denim. In most cases, this should get rid of the smell. If you find that the smell is still lingering on, just air dry it for a few more hours and you should be sorted.
